"(...) to project in Cork is necessary to understand their plastic characteristics and technological limitations. But this methodological approach is not new and seems to be the most genuine and best that represents a new "culture of cork." In Portugal a pioneering example is the project "Sela" from designer Paulo Parra, with an obvious artistic quality and structural simplicity, explores the sensory and affective aspects of cork, either by its natural smoothness of the surface or its functional type of rocking chair that can connote with the contemplative nature of the Alentejo countryside."
